Annual rollover of reading lists

After the annual Moodle and ChiReadingLists rollover (usually late July to early August), it's good practice to ensure your ChiReadingLists links are linking to the correct academic year.

Timing:

  • You’ll be able to check your links once you have access to your new Moodle page and the ChiReadingLists have rolled over. If you believe a ChiReadingList hasn’t been set up for your current module, please contact the Acquisitions and Reading List Librarian.

What to check:

  • If you have copied your Moodle page from the previous year the reading list icons will still be there.
  • Click each icon to check if it links to the list for the new academic year. If it does, no changes are needed. The time period for the list will be displayed at the top of the page, just below the ChiReadingList title.

If it is showing the previous year's list. In this case you need to find each ChiReadingLists link (including weekly section links) on your Moodle page and re-link.

How to re-link to the new list or section:

  • If the time period for the list is incorrect, click 'Embed a different version' (located above the title). This will show all available versions of the list—simply select the one with the correct time period. If no options appear, try searching by your module code or title. If you're still unable to find an appropriate list to embed, please contact the Acquisitions and Reading Lists Librarian.

  • If you're re-linking a section, once you've located the correct list, click 'Select Section' and choose 'Embed' next to the section you want to link.
