Printers

Most of our printers are multi-function devices (printer / photocopier / scanners) holding A4 & A3 paper. Illustrative image

Activate campus card for printing

Before you can release print jobs - you'll need to register your campus card by tapping on a printer reader Illustrative image then log on via the touch-screen using your email address as the username. Illustrative image

Printing from a PC or Mac

When printing from open-access computers, select the printer called ‘Printing on boc-pc-ps’. Illustrative image

Your print jobs are then added to your queue ready for release.

Print Portal

The Print Portal enables you to submit a print job to your queue via a web browser or mobile phone.

It is accessed via webprint.chi.ac.uk or from Moodle click 'Student Services' then 'Print Services' Illustrative image

Services include

  • Upload a file through the 'Web Print' tab Illustrative image
  • Email an attached document to either printmono@chi.ac.uk or printcol@chi.ac.uk  Illustrative image
  • Topping-up print credit (see section lower down)

Releasing print jobs

You can release print jobs from any printer on either campus.

Tap your campus card to identify yourself Illustrative image  then use the touch-screen to select & release jobs. Illustrative image Illustrative image

If you don't have your campus card with you - log on via the touch-screen with your email address & password.

Print jobs remain in your queue for up to 3 days ready for release.

You are charged after you release print jobs.

Topping-up print credit

You are given £2 print credit to get started.

You can top-up your credit via the following methods

  • From the Print Portal choose 'Top-up Print Credits' Illustrative image
  • From Moodle click 'Student Services' then 'Print Services' Illustrative image
  • At the SIZ counter

PrintShop

A wide-range of specialised printing services are available through the PrintShop.

These can be used for student work, personal use, or for commercial printing.
