Multi-factor authentication

The university uses Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) as an additional security measure to protect your IT account from unauthorised access and cyber threats.

When accessing network services such as email, Moodle and SupportMe, you may be prompted to enter a one-time passcode Illustrative image which can be actioned via a mobile app. Illustrative image

MFA authentication methods

  • Authenticator App - the requested passcode will be displayed in the app
  • Registered telephone number -  the passcode will be sent to you by SMS message or a telephone call

On some mobile devices Face-ID / Touch-ID can be setup to authenticate to MFA.
