If you know that you are working with someone with a physical or motor disability, please make sure you discuss with them how they like to work and if they have any specific requirements.
Whilst not all people are the same, here are some good general tips:
Designing for users with physical or motor disabilities
- Do make large clickable actions
- Don't demand precision
- Do give form fields space
- Don't bunch interactions together
- Do design for keyboard and speech only
- Don't make dynamic content that requires a lot of mouse movement
- Do design with mobile and touchscreen in mind
- Don't have short time-out windows
- Do provide shortcuts
- Don't tire users with lots of typing and scrolling
