Browser pop-up blockers

Pop-ups are web pages that are forced to open in separate windows.

Pop-ups may contain useful information; however, be cautious of online advertisement pop-ups or websites attempting to use pop-ups to install malicious programs or viruses.

Below are some guides on how to enable or disable pop-ups for the popular web browsers:

* The Support & Information Zone (SIZ) operates 8:00 to 20:00 (midweek) and 10:00 to 16:00 (weekends) during semester-time. Non-semester, SIZ operates 8:00 to 17:00 midweek only. Our phone service may close 30 minutes prior to allow for a LRC shutdown/handover.

All opening hours listed outside these times are for self-service LRC access only.

** On Monday 18th November the LRCs will open at 8am and then continue to remain open 24/7 for the period outlined above.

How to contact the library team

There is a team of professional librarians at each campus who provide specialist support, deliver information skills training and manage the library resources. Contact a member of the library team by using the details below or phone the Support and Information Zone (SIZ) on 01243 816222. General enquiries can be sent by email to help@chi.ac.uk.

Emergencies (including first aid)

The University’s emergency phone number operates 24 hours a day for on campus emergencies: 01243 816363 (extension 6363 from an internal phone). This number can be used to request first aid support, or to report security issues or lift breakdowns.

Where appropriate please call 999 for emergency services but, where possible, all call 6363 afterwards so the Estates team can escort emergency vehicles to the incident location when they arrive on campus.
