Operating system versions

This page shows how to check which version of operating system you have for iOS (iPhone/iPad), Android, Apple Mac (OS X), and  Windows.


   iOS (iPhone/iPad)
 

How to check which iOS version you have:

  • Tap Settings > General > About
  • Then look under Version

How to check which Android version you have:

  • Tap Settings > About > Software Information
  • Then look under Android Version

   Apple Mac (OS X)

How to check which OS X version you have:

  • Click the Apple icon in top left corner
  • Then click About This Mac

   Windows

How to check which Windows version you have:

  • Windows 10 or 8.1: right-click the Start button then click System
  • Windows 8.0: on your keyboard press Windows Key and D together (to put into desktop mode), then hover the mouse in very bottom right corner, and from the popup menu click Settings, then PC Info
  • Windows 7: click the Start button, right-click Computer then click Properties

How to find out if you have a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows

  • Windows 10 or 8.1
    Right-click the Start button then click System
    Then look under System Type and you'll see either 32-bit or 64-bit operating system Illustrative image

  • Windows 8.0
    On your keyboard press Windows Key and D together (to put into desktop mode), then hover the mouse in very bottom right corner, and from the popup menu click Settings, then PC Info

  • Windows 7
    Click the Start button, then right-click Computer and select Properties
