How to set up call diverting in Teams

What is call diverting?

Call Diversion lets you divert your calls to almost any number, call group or mobile. It also dictates what happens should the call go unanswered and after how long. It can even be used to simultaneously ring other numbers/contacts. 

~ This feature is only available for staff that have their extension number enabled through Teams ~

How to enable call diverting in Teams

Open the Microsoft Teams Desktop application and select the three dots (...) next to your profile image in the top right and select "Settings" : Illustrative image

Once in the settings menu, select "Calls" in the menu column on the left:  Illustrative image

You can then choose from one of two categories, 'Calls ring me' or 'Forward my calls', there are further options within each of the two categories:

 

Calls ring me:Forward my Calls:
Also Ring
  • No one else
  • New number / New contact
  • Call group - select multiple individuals
  • Voicemail
  • New number / New contact
  • Call group
If Unanswered
  • Voicemail
  • New number / New contact
  • Do Nothing
  • Call group - select multiple individuals
 
 
  • Ring for this many seconds before redirecting:
    • 10-60 Seconds: Illustrative image
 

 

Ring order

If you have selected to "Also ring: Call group", you will see the option to change the Ring order:  Illustrative image

You can change between:

  • In the order above
  • All at the same time
