Enabling and Configuring Browser-Based Spellcheckers

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge and click on the three-dotted menu button in the top-right corner.
  2. Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click on Languages.
  4. Under the "Writing assistance" section, activate Microsoft Editor to enable advances spelling and grammar checking.

Google Chrome

  1. Open Google Chrome and click on the three-dotted menu button in the top-right corner.
  2. Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
  3. Scroll down and click on Languages.
  4. Under Spell check, turn on or off the spell check for the languages you want Chrome to check1.

Safari

  1. Open Safari on your Mac and click on Edit in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
  2. Go to Spelling and Grammar.
  3. Toggle Check Spelling While Typing, Check Grammar with Spelling, and Correct Spelling Automatically to enable or disable these features.

Firefox

  1. Open Firefox and click on the menu button in the top-right corner.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. In the General panel, go to the Language section.
  4. Check or uncheck Check your spelling as you type.
