At the University of Chichester, we’re committed to providing as best an experience for gaming as we can, whilst remaining within the confines of a secure environment for all staff and students.
To facilitate this, we have implemented a dual boot system, where-by computers in the BRC Tech Park PC Suite, and the BRC LRC IT Study Rooms can be rebooted into an alternative copy of Windows to run games.
Can I install any game that I own via Steam etc?
Yes! Within the ggLeap environment you are free to install any games you wish from your own Library on Steam, Epic, etc. However, any games installed will be automatically removed when the machine is rebooted.
What games are installed?
The list of games can be quite dynamic, so for a complete list of games, please refer here: https://centers.ggcircuit.com/UOC/games/all
Any requests for additional games should be made via SupportMe, and will be approved based on available IT Resources and Lecturer’s plans for the rooms. As much as we’d like to accommodate the fact that some games are available on different stores, sometimes this is not feasible.
Will installing updates affect other people playing?
It’s very unlikely. The University has 2x 10Gbps internet connections, with each gaming PC having a 1GBps connection to the LAN. The likelihood of saturation is very, very slim.
