Advance notice of upcoming IT work and projects:
|1 Jan - 31 Dec 2017||Windows 10 deployment|
There is an ongoing programme of upgrades to move all University computers to Windows 10 and Office 2016.
|Tue 2 Jan - Fri 5 Jan 2018||Significant works and resilience testing||IT Services coordinate resilience testing and major upgrades outside of term times. The resilience testing operations are to ensure that failover and recovery procedures can be carried out effectively in the event of an emergency. During the first week back following the winter break, several tests will be carried out across different network services to ensure that they can be recovered promptly and within a specific time period also known as a Recovery Time Objective (RPO). |
During this time, there may be some intervals where network services could be disrupted. Further communications will be arranged ahead of the testing period which will explain what services will be unavailable and when. IT Services will endeavour to keep disruption to a minimum and avoid normal business hours where possible.
