Screening for specific learning differences such as dyslexia and dyspraxia
What is a screening?
A screening is a meeting between you and a specialist Adviser that lasts up to one hour, during which time you will have the opportunity to discuss your difficulties. The screening is a way of identifying indications of specific learning differences such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD. The Adviser will discuss the results with you and, if appropriate, will explain the process of going through a more formal assessment with an educational psychologist (EP).
If the outcome from a screening appointment is a recommendation to have a full EP assessment we will tell you how much they cost (£350 as at March 2025) and, with your agreement, will refer you to our recommended Educational Psychologists who will then contact you to arrange an appointment and take payment for this.
If you believe you will benefit from a screening appointment please complete our screening support pathway which can be found on the Student Support portal.
