PowerPoint – Adding media (Images)

Adding images to a PowerPoint slide is one of the features you’ll use most often. You can insert images stored on your computer, found online, or copied from your clipboard.

Insert an image from your computer

  1. Go to the Insert tab on the ribbon.
  2. Select Pictures.
  3. File Explorer will open—browse to the folder you need.
  4. Select an image and click Insert.

Insert a stock image from Microsoft

  1. In the Insert tab, select Pictures.
  2. Choose Stock Images.
  3. Search using keywords, or browse through Microsoft’s categories.

Icons, Cutout People, Stickers, Illustrations & Cartoon People

Microsoft provides a range of additional visual assets via the Stock Images menu:

  • Go to InsertStock Images. Pick the category you want.
  • Icons
  • Cutout People
  • Stickers
  • Illustrations
  • Cartoon People (provided as separate bodies, heads, and faces so you can mix and match)

Copying an Image from the Web

  1. Find an image in your web browser.
  2. Right‑click the image and choose Copy image.
  3. Return to PowerPoint, right‑click your slide, and choose the Clipboard paste option
