The University uses Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) as an additional security measure to protect your IT account from unauthorised access and cyber threats.

When accessing University network services such as email, Moodle and SupportMe, you may be asked to enter a one-time passcode - which will be sent to one of your MFA authentication methods

  • PingID Mobile app
  • PingID Desktop App
  • Using a personal email address
  • An Authenticator app, such as Microsoft Authenticator

For example, after logging on to email on a mobile phone you will be prompted to enter a one-time passcode Illustrative image which can be sent e.g. to the Ping ID app installed on your mobile Illustrative image or to another of your saved MFA methods by clicking 'Change Device' Illustrative image

On some mobile devices Face-ID / Touch-ID can be setup to authenticate for you.
