There is an ongoing programme of upgrades to move all University computers to Windows 10 and Office 2016.
New features have been documented on the Windows 10 Moodle Page. The Skills team will be running some familiarisation sessions, to book a session or to have a 121 tutorial, please email ITskills@chi.ac.uk.
83% of the University's computers now use Windows 10. All teaching spaces and open access locations have been completed, staff machines are currently being processed.
Please note, currently we cannot upgrade those running the Agresso client (this excludes those using the web purchasing system).
There are many benefits to this upgrade including, for example, that a laptop used off-campus will operate exactly as though it is on-campus, and there is no longer a need to use VMware View to access your S drive or other network areas. Other benefits include the speed at which your PC will boot and increased security features over Windows 7.
To arrange an upgrade please email firstname.lastname@example.org, and the Service Delivery team will liaise with you. The upgrade will take up to an hour, and will only be scheduled at a convenient time to you.
