Wi-Fi guide for Android devices

Connecting to our eduroam Wi-Fi network

  • From home screen select the' Programs/Apps' icon, then choose 'Settings'
  • Make sure the Wi-Fi switch is 'On' then tap 'Wi-Fi'
  • Choose the 'eduroam' network
  • Set the following authentication information:
    EAP method: PEAP
    Phase 2 authentication: None
    CA certificate: set to 'Do not check/validate' or 'Please select'
    Identity: your university email address e.g. kweb1@stu.chi.ac.uk
    Password: your university password
  • Then connect

Manually installing the CA certificate

For very old versions of Android you may need to manually install a certificate, then connect to eduroam setting the 'CA certificate' to 'GlobalSign'.

Removing the eduroam Wi-Fi network

  • From home screen tap the 'Apps/programs' icon, then choose 'Settings'
  • Firstly make sure the 'Wi-Fi' switch is on, then tap 'Wi-Fi' 
  • Choose the 'eduroam' network
  • Now tap 'Forget' to remove
