Classroom Support is provided by the IT Service Delivery team.
Booking procedures for a classroom set-up
Staff are encouraged where possible to book rooms already equipped with the appropriate facilities. If you do need a temporary set-up, please use the Self Service Portal. Under' Request a Service' and 'IT Services' there is a 'Classroom Equipment Request' form which will need to be filled out.
If equipment fails we will endeavor to provide emergency assistance within 10 minutes. This applies to normal daytime semester hours only. Contact details are below.
Please note: We cannot provide a technician to check equipment before your session, nor can we provide a technician to operate equipment for you during the session. Please therefore familiarise yourself with the room instructions in advance of your event.
Instructions on the use of classroom equipment
Instructions on operating and/or correcting problems with the computer, data-projector and audio equipment are displayed on a sign on or near the equipment rack/console. Should you require training in the use of equipment, please request a training session via the Self Service Portal. Please be aware that training cannot be provided at short notice and you should allow for at least one week’s notice when placing your request.
Faulty Equipment
Please report any equipment that is not functioning properly as soon as possible to the IT Service Desk via the Self Service Portal, email itservicedesk@chi.ac.uk or telephone the Classroom Support (contact numbers below), so that we can deal with the problem. Under no circumstances should staff remove equipment from the room they find it in without notifying Classroom Support, nor tamper with equipment. Moving an OHP out of one room and into another, for example, denies someone else a facility they expected to find.
